I have to admit that I did not use this item as intended. I didn't put it in my cat's litter box, because I didn't see an ingredient list anywhere on the package, so I couldn't be 100% certain that this was safe for cats to ingest, and I wouldn't be able to call poison control and tell them what my cat just ate were he to pull a one-orange-braincell move and try eating this (he totally would; he's eaten litter before, sigh). That's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.BUT, my friends, as a deodorizer, I can tell you THIS WORKS VERY WELL!I recently purchased a beautiful used sideboard, solid wood, that reeked of potpourri smell. I'd left baking soda in it for a few weeks and it didn't make a dent in the stench at all.So, since I'd opted not to use this in the litter box, I thought I'd give it a go in the sideboard. I poured one pouch into ceramic dishes and placed them throughout.I will say I was a little worried at first because the pellets have a bit of a peculiar smell themselves, not terribly strong but I didn't care for it, either.After a few days, though, I couldn't smell the peculiar smell anymore, and better yet, the potpourri smell was drastically reduced. I was pretty shocked, especially after the baking soda hadn't done a thing. I'm happy to report that the smell is now completely gone. So I've no doubt this works well as a litter deodorizer, too, even if I didn't use it as intended.A little goes a long way, too. I only used one packet in my quest for the stinkless sideboard, and this item comes with three pouches. (You mix a pouch in with a ~20# bag of litter, so that will help you gauge how fast you'd go through this.)So, even though I didn't end up using this as intended, I'm sure it WOULD work well as intended (as long as you don't have a nincompoop litter eating cat), AND has the added bonus of being a great deodorizer for other things in the house.Would order again.

I believe these work, to be fair I have multiple odor eliminating factors all at the same time.I do think that these help decrease the smell additionally on my pellet system. The bags are a little bit difficult to open that's my only criticism.I do recommend odor eliminating spray additionally that I spray on top of these and my pellets I think it helps increase the potency.

This works excellently. I use walnut litter which has no smell in my opinion but also doesn't clump superwell so sometimes there is a strong smell when my cat uses it. I added this in and hoped for the best as we have an open floorplan. I have yet to smell my cat's usage since. I like that it is isn't a strong odor to overcome, just essentially soaks up the odors. My cat wasn't bothered by it either. I always felt uncomfortable using sprays, so I love this add in.

More importantly, my cats didn’t seem bothered by it at all, which is always something I watch for when trying new litter additives.Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do, lasts a decent amount of time, and the 3-pack makes it a good value. I’m happy with it and would get it again.
